Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk looking for a part-time temporary opportunity with a well-established local business?
We are recruiting on behalf of a local infrastructure and engineering business company based near Colwyn Bay, who are looking for an organised and experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk/ Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid purchase ledger experience who is confident working with invoices, suppliers and reconciliations. Working closely with the buying department, you will be responsible for maintaining an accurate purchase ledger, ensuring supplier invoices and costs are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase ledger supplier invoices for materials and ensuring they match the relevant purchase orders
- Matching and uploading weekly delivery notes
- Resolving invoice and account queries in conjunction with the buying department
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve invoice queries and payment requests
- Reconciling supplier statements in preparation for payment runs
- Working to a deadline of three weeks from period end for completion of costs
- Providing general support to ensure the smooth running of the purchase ledger function
We would love to see your CV if you have the following:
- Solid purchase ledger experience
- Confident using Microsoft Office
- Experience using financial software systems; knowledge of Xero would be advantageous, although training can be provided
- Well-organised, accurate and methodical, with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with suppliers and colleagues across the business
Working Tuesday to Thursday 9.00am–4.30pm (21 hours per week, which may get reduced to two days a week following a six week review ) including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. In exchange you will receive an hourly pay rate of £13.50 + accrued holiday pay whilst on assignment
The successful candidate will start on Wednesday 23rd September 2026, working Wednesday and Thursday only during their first week and is anticipated to run until December 2026, with the possibility of extending into January 2027.
