In the Principal Planning Officer role, you will:
- Managing major and complex planning applications
- Line managing and support a team of Planning Officers
- Providing pre-application advice via our advice service and duty officer line
- Preparing reports and present at Planning Committee (monthly attendance required)
- Monitoring team performance and support professional development
- Working to deadlines and contribute to efficient service delivery
To be successful, you will need:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Town Planning or related discipline
- RTPI membership
- Extensive experience in development management, including complex applications and committee reporting
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Attendance required at monthly Planning Committee and site visits
This is a temporary, fixed term assignment for approximately 9–12 months. You'll be working full time, with hybrid working (ideally 1–2 office days per week based in Colwyn Bay – flexible and discussed at interview)
You'll start on a salary of £24.75 per hour plus benefits including weekly pay, holiday accrual and more.
