Are you passionate about helping young people build confidence and develop the skills they need for their future? This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners as they transition into a college environment, whilst gaining valuable experience within a vocational education setting.
In the Learning Support Assistant role you will be:
- Supporting learners aged 14–16 enrolled on the Junior Apprenticeship Programme, helping them engage positively with their learning and college experience
- Working alongside tutors and support teams to provide academic, social and pastoral support tailored to individual learner needs
- Assisting learners during vocational sessions by reinforcing instructions, supporting tasks and encouraging participation
- Promoting independence, confidence and positive behaviour, helping learners develop essential skills for their future
- Supporting learner progress through reviews, record keeping and working collaboratively with teaching and support staff
To be successful, you will need:
- Experience supporting young people, ideally within an educational, training or vocational environment
- Understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and the pastoral needs of younger learners
- Qualifications within the relevant field, including Supporting Teaching and Learning or Supporting Adults and Young People with ALN
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, resilient and adaptable approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with learners, tutors and wider support teams
- Enhanced DBS clearance is essential for this role
This is a temporary position for initially 2 months, working 25 hours per week. You’ll be based in Rhyl, starting on an hourly rate of £12.71 per hour plus benefits.
