Job Description

Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse? We’re recruiting for a rewarding temporary opportunity where you’ll make a genuine difference by providing practical and emotional support within the Dolgellau / South Gwynedd community.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children, young people and families using a person-centred approach
  • Carry out needs and risk assessments, support planning and safeguarding referrals
  • Support service users to build resilience, confidence and positive coping strategies
  • Deliver domestic abuse awareness sessions within schools and community settings
  • Work closely with external agencies including Social Services, education, health and support services
  • Maintain accurate case records, reports and monitoring information using internal systems
  • Advocate for service users with agencies including Police, Courts and housing/support providers
  • Plan and deliver engaging wellbeing and creative activities to encourage participation and community involvement

We would love to see your CV if you have the following:

  • Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals within a support, care or domestic abuse setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and trauma-informed support
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations professionally and maintain confidentiality
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport
  • Able to communicate in Welsh (Written and verbal)
  • Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one

This is a full-time temporary role (35 hours per week) including participation in an on-call rota, based in Dolgellau and the surrounding area for approximately 8 - 12 weeks initially. With a competitive salary equivalent to £25,227 - £27,565 per annum DOE (pro-rata), plus an on call allowance.
