We have an opportunity for a number of relief Town Cleaners to support environmental services across Gwynedd. This is a hands-on, outdoor role where you’ll play a key part in keeping local communities clean, safe, and welcoming. This is a temporary role on a week by week basis to support holidays and sickness, with the potential for extension depending on service needs.
As a Relief Town Cleaner, your key Responsibilities will be to:
- Carry out street, road, and open space cleaning duties across urban and rural areas
- Empty public bins including general waste, recycling, and dog waste bins
- Collect fly-tipping and maintain cleanliness in public areas such as parks and cemeteries
- Handle waste safely, including hazardous materials such as needles, animal waste, and roadkill
- Complete daily records, reports, and administrative documentation
- Ensure all work is carried out efficiently in line with schedules and service standards
- Support service improvements by contributing ideas and feedback
- Follow all health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and company policies
- Participate in audits and safety checks
- Report accidents, incidents, or hazards promptly

This is a Temporary role to cover holidays & sickness, typical shift patterns are Wednesday - Sunday between 05:00 and 16:00 (Weekend working required) Flexibility required for emergency situations. In return, you will receive an hourly rate from £12.71 per hour plus Holiday pay.
