We are seeking an experienced and dynamic programme manager to work as part of our Leadership Team. Do you have excellent interpersonal skills? Are you passionate about decarbonisation and strengthening North Wales’ status as a leading location for low carbon energy?
In this unique position you will play an integral role in decarbonising the region’s economy in a way that brings in investment, creates jobs and sustainable growth. The role will give you the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders in the sector, including local authorities, government, the private sector and our universities and colleges.
As Energy and Net Zero Programme Manager at Ambition North Wales, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the North Wales Growth Deal’s Low Carbon Programme and its diverse range of transformational projects, including design, negotiation and planning
- Leading the Ambition North Wales Energy Team;
- Collaborating with regional partners and Welsh Government to coordinate delivery of the Regional Energy Strategy and Local Area Energy Plans
- Developing, negotiating, and agreeing project business cases
- Overseeing project delivery including project design and planning, implementation and conclusion;
- Achieving individual and cumulative outcomes and targets on time and within allocated resources;
- Coordinating joint and inter-dependent planning and implementation of projects within the Growth Deal including risk management and benefits realization;
- Contributing to the implementation of the regional Growth Vision and Regional Economic Framework.
At Ambition North Wales, we are looking for an Energy and Net Zero Programme Manager who has the following:
- Degree/postgraduate in a relevant field (or equivalent);
- Good knowledge, understanding and experience of the sector;
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
- A good working knowledge of programme and project management methods;
- Understanding of financial management and procurement practice;
- High level negotiating skills including securing approvals within complex governance arrangements;
- Experience of effective public/stakeholder engagement;
- Evidence and a record of continuous professional development;
- Previous experience of staff management;
- Experience of successful programme and/or project delivery to deadline and to budget within the sector
- Experience of prioritising strategic opportunities and securing consensus for project selection;
- Experience of successful project delivery to deadline and to budget.
The team have adopted a hybrid working model with a mix of Llandudno Junction office based and home working. In return, you will receive a salary of £58,121 – £61,311 per annum plus membership of the local government pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement. This is a full-time role with Ambition North Wales; however, we will consider flexible working requests for the right person. This is a permanent contract.
