Develop your experience in student engagement and widening access within a rewarding role where you'll support initiatives designed to encourage underrepresented groups to access higher education. Working closely with schools, colleges and community partners, you'll play a key role in delivering activities that have a positive impact on prospective students and their educational journeys.
In the Student Access Assistant role you will:
- Support the planning, organisation and delivery of widening access activities and events aimed at increasing participation in higher education
- Provide high-quality administrative support, maintaining schedules, records, meeting notes and action plans to ensure projects run smoothly
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, community organisations and external partners to support recruitment and outreach objectives
- Assist with research, reporting and evaluation activities to help shape future initiatives and measure the impact of widening access programmes
- Manage contact data and support the co-ordination of events, communications and recruitment activities using internal systems and databases
To be successful, you will need:
- Previous experience working within an education, recruitment, outreach or similar environment
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience supporting the planning and co-ordination of events, activities or projects
- Good IT skills, including experience maintaining records and databases, alongside a proactive and flexible approach to work
This is a temporary role up until 30 September 2026, working full time (Monday to Friday), on an hourly rate of £14.00 + benefits, where you'll be office based in Wrexham. Flexibility is required, as occasional evening and weekend working, along with travel to support events and activities, will form part of the role. Please note, this position is subject to a DBS disclosure.
