Job Description
Looking to be part of a developing and growing national charity? We have a fixed term opportunity for you to join a highly skilled multidisciplinary Rehabilitation team, in an organisation that allows you to make a significant contribution to the quality of life for vision impaired veterans based in North Wales.

In the Occupational Therapist job, you will be:
  • Responsible for the completion of comprehensive outcome focused assessments, design and delivery of Rehabilitation programmes. This will include advice around management of health conditions and living a healthy lifestyle, motivation to engage in purposeful activity and interventions to increase/maintain occupational function
  • In control of evaluating member’s rehabilitation programs and making further needs led recommendations for further centre or community interventions
  • Carrying out assessments with visually impaired members with a focus on enabling people to do the things they want, need or are expected to do in their daily lives
  • Jointly identifying with our members bespoke, dynamic and holistic rehabilitation interventions which maximise members’ motivation to live a full healthy lifestyle and engagement in purposeful activity
The ideal candidate for the Occupational Therapist job will have:
  • Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy 
  • Current HCPC Registration
  • Portfolio of continued professional development following qualification demonstrating reflective practice
  • Confidence in assessing people’s complex health and wellbeing needs
  • Ability to apply knowledge and evidence-based practice to maximise safety and performance in activities of daily living. 
  • Up to date knowledge in the field of visual impairment in adults
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Good level of IT skills

This is a 12 month fixed term contract, working 35 hours per week. The post will be based in Llandudno with some UK travel. Due to the current COVID-19 situation the Charity has temporarily redesigned its Rehabilitation Service to offer a remote service nationally. The post is usually based at the Llandudno Centre, however, in the short term there would be a need to work from home.

The salary is of £28,537 per annum and includes benefits such as free life assurance, sickness benefit scheme, Employee Assistance Programme and a generous pension scheme.
