Job Description

Founded over 100 years ago, one of the UK’s leading educational establishments has an opportunity for a full time Senior Administrator to join its enthusiastic and positive team on a full-time temporary basis covering maternity until Christmas but with a possibility to extend until Summer 2020.

Reporting to the Manager of the department you will form an integral part of the clerical team where you will be providing high quality administrative support within a busy environment where a high level of customer service and confidentiality will be required.

As a Senior Administrator your main responsibilities will be:

  • To manage and assist with the organisation and day-to-day operation of administrative processes and procedures within the department.
  • To communicate effectively with both staff and students, and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and any external bodies/organisations.
  • To provide professional, administrative and secretarial support to the Head of the department and other Managers.
  • Managing the departmental meeting schedule, arranging all appointments and making travel arrangements.
  • Manage the access to the Head of the department and liaise with internal and external contacts and visitors, acting as a first point of contact, and where appropriate, deal with enquiries on their behalf.
  • To liaise effectively within the department and with other departments.
  • Providing administrative support for a variety of different meetings, including organising dates, preparing papers, taking minutes and circulating as appropriate.
  • Maintaining the filing system and ensure files required by staff members and other stakeholders are available when required.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times.

We are really keen to see your CV if you have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of working within an office / administrative environment with the ability to take minutes and organise meetings.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate effectively. in both English and Welsh, orally and in writing.
  • Accurate data entry and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good organisational skills and a proven ability to prioritise tasks and handle a varied and demanding work load.

In exchange you will receive a pay rate of £22, 658 per annum / £12.03 per hour plus Holiday pay. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 8.45am – 5.00pm.
