Administrative Assistant/Technician Job, Penrhyndeudraeth, North Wales

Are you looking for an opportunity in the world of Conservation?  We have a temporary post for a Technician/Administration Assistant until End of March 2019 working full time within Snowdonia.

This will be an excellent opportunity for you to be a part of the Conservation, Woodlands and Agricultural Service and is ideal for someone with a passion for geography, the environment and how maps provide essential data and information.

In the Administrative Assistant/Technician Job based in Penrhyndeudraeth, North Wales you will;

  • Provide day to day technical and administrative support to members of the service
  • To provide a support role in the use of GIS within the service
  • To assist in producing, maintaining and developing databases held by the Service
  • To assist in financial control systems
  • To check constraints on applications for permitted development and individual projects
  • Taking minutes and organising meetings between multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Arranging translation of all documents and organisation simultaneous translation services at all project meetings (when required) 
  • Undertaking general administration duties including; maintaining files and databases, dealing with correspondence, answering the phone and providing basic budgetary management

To succeed in the Administrative Assistant/Technician Job based in Penrhyndeudraeth, North Wales you will need:

  • To be highly IT literate, with an interest in geography
  • GIS Training and experience
  • Careful attention to detail with good hand to eye coordination
  • To be able to work as part of a small team following a prescribed set of rules to exact standards to create a uniform database of features
  • To be able to concentrate and produce consistent, accurate work
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask and and willingness to support for project management
  • To undertake any other specified duties as directed by the Head of Conservation, Woodlands and agriculture
  • Good written and verbal communication in both Welsh and English
  • A high standard of education, qualifications in Geography / Mapping would be desirable
  • A valid Driving Licence

This is a full time Temporary contract until the End of March 2019 working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with a pay rate of £9/£9.50 per hour dependent on experience.
