Are you looking to work within a large public sector organisation on a part time temporary basis? We have a new opportunity for an Assistant Cook to join a busy team, located near Colwyn Bay. In this role you will be all aspects of catering for the residential home.
In the role Assistant Cook role you will be:
- Maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards across the establishment.
- Ensuring health and safety compliance, including COSHH and the safe use of domestic and catering equipment.
- Assisting in planning balanced menus that cater to individual dietary needs and make efficient use of ingredients.
- Stepping in as the main cook when needed, managing daily tasks, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Handling catering admin tasks such as ordering, stock control, and ensuring compliance with COSHH, HACCP, and health regulations.
To be considered for the Assistant Cook role, you must have:
- Strong general education with accurate record-keeping skills.
- Food Hygiene certification or willingness to complete it.
- Relevant experience in assisting with high-quality meal preparation.
- Awareness of confidentiality and sensitive information handling.
- Ability to assist in menu planning tailored to client needs and resource management.
- Understanding the needs of vulnerable individuals.
- Current DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
This is a part time temporary vacancy to cover sickness and annual leave. It will be over a seven-day period (the site is open seven days per week) which will include weekends and hours can vary from 10 to 30 hours per week. The hourly rate is £11.98 per hour + holiday pay accrued whilst on assignment, and enhanced rates for working weekends or public holidays.
