Are you an experienced bookkeeper or accounts professional with a strong background in payroll and financial management? We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our clients team based on the beautiful island of Anglesey and take responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journals
- Processing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing
- Managing payroll, including salary calculations, deductions, and tax payments
- Preparing financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts
- Liaising with external accountants for tax returns, VAT submissions, and statutory filings
- Conducting monthly bank reconciliations to ensure data accuracy
- Assisting with budgeting and financial planning for ongoing and future projects
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
- Handling ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.
We would love to see your CV if you have the following:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar financial role
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Excellent organisational and attention-to-detail skills
- Strong analytical abilities with problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills for working with internal teams and external stakeholders
- AAT qualification or similar preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and other UK tax regulations
