Job Description

We are looking to grow our Programme Office team at The North Wales Economic Ambition Board (NWEAB) and are now looking for a Digital Project Manager to join us and help deliver the Growth Deal for North Wales.  This role will give you the opportunity to work with multiple partners across North Wales; have flexible working arrangements, generous annual leave entitlement, a local government pension scheme plus training and professional development opportunities within a supportive environment.

The Growth Deal includes a suite of innovative and transformational programmes that will contribute to driving forward the economy in the region.  The Board has already set a strong foundation to deliver the Growth Vision, exploiting the opportunities as well as addressing some of the challenges facing the regional economy.   Now is an exciting time to join the growing team at the forefront of delivering positive change to North Wales.

The Digital Programme will improving the digital infrastructure and innovation in the region. It will deliver quality access to effective and affordable digital connectivity for businesses and households, and will boost innovation in digital signalling.

Both the UK and Welsh Governments, and the Board, also recognise that the Growth Deal will be a key component of North Wales’ economic recovery post COVID-19.

As the Digital Project Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and delivering digital projects (some multiple complex) including design, budgets, negotiation and planning, through approval and implementation;
  • Multiple project design and business case completion including negotiation and agreement within assigned programme(s);
  • Matrix management of staff and resources across teams including allocation and management of work;
  • Providing professional support including quality assurance to all programmes within the wider Growth Deal portfolio;
  • Project managing the development and delivery of digital connectivity assignments identified by the NWEAB and progress applications for digital connectivity related funding opportunities;
  • Supporting the co-ordination and oversight of programme management systems and disciplines to industry standard.

We are interested in speaking to people about the Digital Project Manager role with the following skills and experience:

  • Degree / postgraduate in a relevant digital field (or equivalent)
  • A Project/Programme Management Qualification (e.g PRINCE 2 Practitioner or equivalent) is desirable;
  • Good knowledge of project management methods and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling assignments;
  • Demonstrable experience of successful programme delivery to deadline and to budget;
  • An understanding of financial management practice;
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications sector;
  • IT literate, with working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and relevant databases and social media;
  • Ability to present, use and interpret information confidently.Whilst the ability to speak Welsh is desirable, it is not essential for this role.

The North Wales Economic Ambition Board is a partnership of the 6 Local Authorities: Gwynedd, Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Wrexham and Flintshire, along with Bangor University, Glyndwr University, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Coleg Cambria and the North Wales Mersey Dee Business Council.  The Board’s purpose is to deliver the Economic Growth Deal to North Wales and fulfil a fifteen-year growth vision to grow the economy and improve productivity.

In return, the Digital Project Manager will receive a salary of £37,849 - £39,782 pa.  This is a full-time role however we will consider flexible working requests for the right person.  Initially this is a fixed term post until June 2023, with the possibility of an extension.
