Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a recently qualified Engineer.  If you are looking to begin and / or develop your career in engineering, a well-established and growing consultancy firm on the outskirts of Wrexham is looking for you! This is a fantastic opening for the right person to become a Technical Engineer and infrastructure consultant.

Joining the technical team, the successful candidate would be responsible for providing advice and support on utility projects to both internal departments and external clients. Working in conjunction with developers, contractors, architects, and Quantity surveyors amongst other professionals across a wide range of sectors and schemes, your duties would also include;

  • Reviewing schemes at inception, analysing infrastructure drawings and advising on applications and procurement of utility quotations
  • Identifying potential utility infrastructure issues, optimise delivery of disconnections, diversions and connections for developments
  • Assess demand loading for applications and liaise with external M+E Consultants
  • Interface with clients and interpret utilities, architectural and engineering drawings
  • Producing reports across feasibility and strategy as well as providing guidance to technical staff regarding their reports
  • Estimating budget costs for utility connections, diversions and disconnections
  • Dealing with quotations, budgets and tenders

The ideal candidate would be comfortable attending internal and external meetings representing the business to the highest standard, negotiation would be a part of your role as well undertaking surveys and assessments of utility infrastructures. You would ideally have the following skills and experience;

  • HND/HNC/Degree in civil / electrical engineering with a construction or utilities related discipline
  • Experience using AutoCAD is needed for this position although training can be provided across some areas of this system
  • Ability to manage and introduce processes
  • Good organisation and team working ability
  • Experience within the construction or utilities industry is essential
  • Awareness of drainage designs would be beneficial
