Job Description
This public sector employer renowned for excellent staff retention and good work life balance is looking to add an experienced quantity surveyor to their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with an interest in modular build to develop knowledge and experience within both zero carbon principles and knowledge of modular timber build.

As a quantity surveyor for this leading employer you will have a minimum of two years residential experience and have previously worked on new build developments. Experience of working with modular build and knowledge of zero carbon principles would be highly beneficial.

Your role and responsibilities will include;

  • Managing small to large value contracts within social housing / public sector.
  • Carry out cost appraisals/ procurement of new sub-contracts relating to modular timber frame construction.
  • Value engineer costs to maximise margins.
  • Prepare applications for payment.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts & commercial viability reports.

This client is looking for a quantity surveyor who can take the lead role in the contract administration, QS function and running of the capital timber frame modular builds. As a confident individual you will be comfortable challenging contractors to ensure value of money is achieved and maintained throughout the projects, using your initiative you will ensure a high quality of service is achieved resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and experience;

  • Previous social housing experience
  • Experience and or knowledge of timber frame modular build and Zero carbon principles
  • Experience delivering projects adopting JCT and NEC Forms of contract.
  • A minimum of two years previous residential experience
  • A history of working on New Build projects
