Job Description

S2 Recruitment are representing an expanding FMCG leader who are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their thriving team in the food industry. This role is ideal for a candidate who is searching for an opportunity which will allow them to integrate into a pivotal role in a highly technological team. Due to continued growth of the brand, our client is now in a position where they can expand their team with an ambitious candidate who has previous experience within an FMCG environment. As the Engineer, you will be responsible for the continued maintenance of FMCG based machinery whilst also undertaking a number of continuous improvement projects to reduce the costs and site downtime. 

This vacancy offers a salary up to £37,000 depending on experience and will function under a shift pattern routine on a 4 on, 4 off basis in our client’s Wrexham site. Although this role is favourable for a candidate with electrical bias, we would be keen to speak to potential candidates from all backgrounds including mechanical & multiskilled although it is essential that you have a basic understanding of electrical procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

- Actively respond to technical issues across site machinery

- Establish a culture of continuous improvement within the function

- Form strong relationships within the engineering & technical teams to ensure quick responses to immediate requirements 

- Complete all technical work to industrial and organisational health & safety policies

- Ensure that all logged tasks are managed and updated to demonstrate progress and allow for support from employees on different shifts


Ideal Candidate:

- Electrical bias but candidates from a multiskilled / mechanical background will be considered providing the knowledge and groundworks for electrical are understood

- Previous experience within a hands-on manufacturing environment in a food environment.

- Confident in discussing and planning

- Wealth of knowledge of modern industrial procedures, technologies and techniques with the confidence to discuss ideas for change

- Educated to an HNC/ONC or relevant university degree level
