Restorative Justice Worker job, Colwyn Bay, North Wales

Are you looking to work within a large public-sector organisation on a full time temporary basis? As our clients’ first tier preferred supplier we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Restorative Justice Worker to develop and coordinate a range of community activities and work projects for young people based around Conwy and Denbighshire.

In the Restorative Justice Worker job, Colwyn Bay, North Wales you will be:

  • Assisting in the development of effective community based projects for young people with unpaid work requirements
  • Promoting and developing quality relationships with providers and supervisors in the local community
  • Identifying and arranging appropriate opportunities for unpaid work and reparation in accordance with legislation
  • Supervising and completing programmes of work with young people engaged in the scheme  
  • Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to act as mentors / supervisors to young people engaged in the scheme
  • Working within agreed procedures and protocols relating to health & safety and carry our relevant risk assessments

To be considered for the Restorative Justice Worker job, Colwyn Bay, North Wales you must have:

  • Previous experience working with young people who are subject to court orders / have challenging behaviour
  • A current enhanced DBS certificate (Essential) 
  • A practical nature with good outdoor skills for example, gardening, building, carpentry
  • Relevant experience of working with children and their families at risk of offending or involved in offending
  • The ability to organise young people activities within a set budget and resources
  • The ability to work closely with colleague’s in the delivery of programmes to prevent young people offending
  • Good general office and IT skills including Microsoft packages
  • Knowledge of childcare and child protection legislation
  • The ability to drive and access to own vehicle

This is a full time temporary vacancy of 12 weeks, working 37.5 hours per week with an hourly pay rate of £11.00 per hour plus any accrued holiday time whilst on the assignment.
